Saigon dropping Moral of the Story on 9/11

Throw one more name into the mix. Saigon has just said that he will be releasing his latest mixtape Moral of the Story on September 11.

“This is the set up for my album that’s coming right behind it,” Saigon said. Saigon also promised that this would shut down his previous mixtapes.

Producers on Moral of the Story include Just Blaze, Alchemist and Scram Jones.

50 Trash talks Kanye

Just when everyone thought beef between 50 and Kanye was over after the two performed on stage together with others at Screamfest, 50 tosses some more fuel on the fire. Today (Aug 30th) on AJ's Playhouse on Channel 933 50 talked even more trash about 'Ye, saying:

"It's not possible for Kanye to beat me, I don't know why I said that. Its like the teddy bear vs. the gorilla. Def Jam is going to buy about 200,000 of Kanye's records." He then went on to say, "Kanye sucks, I'm going to be honest, he sounds like a robot, he has a robot record"

So what about all the love in the air at Screamfest? Well 50 claims that Kanye was annoyed that he got on stage with him at the event, saying "Kanye crossed his arms cause I bumped into him and said, 'man you just had to come up here didn't you?...'"

Apparently these two haven't kissed and made up quite yet...

Lil Wayne Sued For $1 million

A woman who was trampled during Lil' Wayne's performance a Morgan State University last October is suing the rapper for negligent behavior.

The woman, then 17-year-old Tyrique Layne, claims that she was trampled and knocked unconscious after Wayne or members of his entourage threw money into the crowd. According to the Daily Record, the suit states that Layne suffered a "serious closed head injury," and that she now suffers from memory loss, severe and frequent headaches and difficulty concentrating.

The suit names Lil' Wayne, Cash Money Records Inc., Universal Records Inc., and Young Money Touring Inc., and seeks $1 million in damages.

Lil' Wayne was opening for Busta Rhymes at the concert, during which two other women were injured.

Pregnant Foxy Stuck In Jail

Troubled rapper FOXY BROWN’s bid for freedom has been rejected by a New York City judge. The pregnant hip-hop star, real name Inga Marchand, was jailed last Wednesday (22Aug07) by Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Melissa Jackson for violating probation from a 2006 assault conviction following her recent arrest for assaulting her neighbour and a traffic stop for driving on a suspended license.

Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Laura Ward denied Marchand’s application for release. Marchand’s lawyer Ikiesha Al-Shabazz tells the New York Daily News, “We’re going to file an appeal.” The Candy star is expected to appear in court on 7 September (07) for a hearing.

Juelz Santana Launches Rock Star Clothing Line, Readies New Album

Dipset MC Juelz Santana is set to add fashion designer to his list of achievements, as he's gearing up to launch his RoyElz clothing line this winter.
Reportedly modeled after Santana's own personal style and rock star look, RoyElz will be designed by Mr. Slim Mils and will make it's debut at the famed Magic's Fall Marketplace convention in Las Vegas this February. The line was slated to be unveiled next week at Magic's Spring Marketplace but was pushed back due to a family member's terminal illness.

The line, which the Harlem-born rapper has been preparing for some time, will be a family affair with his mother, Deborah James, and aunt, Laura Tyler, helping with the business.

"My Sister, Juelz, and I are extremely excited about the line", says James, president of the company. "We are looking forward to the launching of RoyElz and seeing it in stores soon".

The Diplomat lyricist is also putting the finishing touches on his third solo LP, Born To Lose, Built To Win. Though known for his flashy lyrics, Santana says that this disc, which has yet to receive a release date, will be a more mature effort and that the subject matter will be expanded on this record.

"This upcoming album will show my growth as an artist," says Santana. "This time around, I'm talking about survival, maintaining my lifestyle and overcoming the obstacles and challenges life brings. The beats will be harder and the lyrics are tighter."

Bizzy Bone set to release solo album.

While the Swizz Beatz backed return of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony proved that the relationship between Bizzy Bone and his former brethren is still somewhat rocky, his upcoming solo album finds him mending fences with another rapid-rhyming Midwesterner. "Money," the lead single from Bizzy's A Song For You, features the former Eazy-E protege rhyming alongside Chicago's Twista. The feud between Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Twista was well documented in the movie Beef, but has long since been settled and Twista is one of many A-List artists to appear on Bizzy Bone's album.

"I can't wait for my fans to hear my new music," says Bizzy Bone. "For the first time in my life, I've truly been able to put aside all my demons and just focus on making the best music possible. Don't believe what you've heard--I'm back, I'm bringing it, and I'm here to stay."

A Song For You will feature guest appearances by DMX, Trina, Jim Jones and others. The album, which will be released on After Platinum/Virgin Records, is Bizzy's first major label release since 1998's Heaven'z Movie, which was certified gold. Although no official release date has been given, tracks and additional information are available on Bizzy's official Myspace Page.

Jay-Z on Saigon's album

The rumor is true, Saigon talked to MTV News and confirmed that the remix to his first single 'Come On Baby' will feature Jay-Z.

"Yeah, Jay's on my album. He's on the remix to the single, he aired it out. I still gotta go back and rewrite my verse," Saigon told.

"He really does the 'Rain Man' thing, he doesn't sit down and write," he continued. "For mad years, I was like, 'He's too clever, I don't believe he don't write [lyrics] down. He's too on point.' But with this beat, when he came to record to it, he never heard the beat before and his rhyme went so perfect with the beat. I was like he couldn't have wrote this at home, he couldn't have had this in the stash. Maybe this dude do got more brain cells than everybody else. I tell him all the time, 'You an alien, man.' "

Bun B talk on the #1 spot

"It feels good...But I really don't know how you're supposed to feel right now. We want to thank all the fans and the supporters who wanted to see this happen really more than we did. It's really vindication for the fans, for the cats who were fighting for years telling anyone who would listen that UGK was the sh--. It's really vindication for them," he told MTV.

"The music is still here. People are still here to support you if you make good music," he noted.

Although the crew is enjoying the success, Bun added that their run at #1 may end soon.

"It's only for one week," he joked. "[The soundtrack for] 'High School Musical 2' came out yesterday, so it's a wrap. We only have today. But it feels good today."

Havoc Pushed Back, Budden to Gunit? and more..

Havoc’s album has been pushed back … now somewhere someone is saying this is because the album is straight up trash and he has been advised to get his ass back into the studio to do a Curtis ... there is also a little rumor saying that his outburst on the radio about the south and TI has caused him to be put in 'time out' ... but who the hell knows?

A rumor that keeps surfacing is that Joe Budden is maybe signing with G-Unit … Fiddy is trying to get him out of his deal at Def Jam ... another rapper to head to the G-Unit grave yard and keeping it in the G-Unit camp, Lloyd Banks was booed off stage the other night in Canada … someone booked him for a Soca festival … someone obviously messed up somewhere.

The gossip was flying not so long ago that Mary J. Blige and husband were heading for a divorce ... word is now that she is actually pregnant with their first child..

Young Joc, who has somehow made it onto the Forbes list of the richest men in Hip-Hop with earnings of $10 million for 2006 (how did that happen??), is supposed to be housing a secret wife ... not sure if it is him or her that wants that kept quiet though.

Foxy back in the court?

Foxy Brown has been charged with assaulting her longtime neighbor with her Blackberry cell phone on July 30th in the Prospect Heights section of Brooklyn last month. According to police reports the 27-year-old rapper, whose real name is Inga Marchand, turned herself in to detectives at the 77 Precinct at around 2:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon (Aug 14). She was charged with felony assault, menacing, harassment and criminal possession of a weapon.

Brown was arraigned last night and released on $5,000 bail. Her next court date is Sept. 26.

Foxy, who was already on probation when she turned herself in, allegedly smacked the woman in her face with her Blackberry, during an argument. The victim was reportedly taken to Brooklyn Hospital for loosened teeth due to blunt force trauma, swelling of the lip and swelling of the right eye. She filed a complaint with police, and after an investigation, the rapper agreed to turn herself in yesterday.

This isn't the first run-in with the law Foxy has had. She pleaded guilty last year to misdemeanor assault charges stemming from a fight with salon workers over payment for a manicure; she is on probation in that case. Foxy is also facing a battery charge in another unrelated salon incident earlier this year. Police reports claim she threw hair glue at a beauty shop employee in Florida when he asked her to leave because the shop was closing.

While the Florida case is pending, the Manhattan court that handled the original arrest imposed restrictions on Foxy, including drug tests and anger management classes. Probation officials wanted the close monitoring to continue for another two months, but a Manhattan judge overruled.

Lupe Fiasco done with hiphop?

Originally slated for an October 30 release, Lupe Fiasco told Billboard.com that his sophomore LP, The Cool, has been pushed back until November 20.

Lupe also stated that he is working on the album now with 1st & 15th producers Pro and Soundtrack as well as Pharrell and Kanye West.

Lupe also let it be known that Kanye, Pharrell and himself are deciding whether or not to release an album as the supergroup CRS (Child Rebel Soldiers). Their first and only song, US Placers, was premiered on Kanye West’s mixtape, Can’t Tell Me Nothing.

One last startling fact that Lupe revealed is that he is growing tired of making music and that he might retire after his third LP.

“I’m just wearing down … I’m never doing mixtapes again, not even internet ones. My whole energy for making hip hop music is slowing down,” Lupe told Billboard.com.
