"It feels good...But I really don't know how you're supposed to feel right now. We want to thank all the fans and the supporters who wanted to see this happen really more than we did. It's really vindication for the fans, for the cats who were fighting for years telling anyone who would listen that UGK was the sh--. It's really vindication for them," he told MTV.
"The music is still here. People are still here to support you if you make good music," he noted.
Although the crew is enjoying the success, Bun added that their run at #1 may end soon.
"It's only for one week," he joked. "[The soundtrack for] 'High School Musical 2' came out yesterday, so it's a wrap. We only have today. But it feels good today."
UGK, Texas rap duo (Bun B & Pimp C(, came in at number 1 on the billboard charts this week. UGK’s seventh album, “Underground Kingz,” sold 156k units giving them the number one album in the country for the first time in their career’s. UGK first came together in 1987, and after 20 years in the game they are still going strong. Number 2 on the charts was Plies with, “The Real Testament,” selling 91k units. Plies has had much success with his single, “Shawty,” featuring T-Pain. Common drops from the number 1 spot to number 7 this week.
