Rapper Roccett who just recently became an exclusive blogger for Yo! Raps Magazine (www.yoraps.com), a premier online site for Hip-Hop and entertainment industry news, just disclosed that he may sign a deal with Konvict Records. Currently, Roccett is signed to Young Jeezy's label, Corporate Thugs Entertainment (CTE) and was noted as the next to blow last year in The Source's Unsigned Hype. In addition, he has been creating a serious buzz for himself and giving the industry a lot to talk about and more than enough to make them stop and take notice. While at the Core DJ's Retreat in New Orleans this past week, he met up with Akon. "I got to see and chill with Akon on the last day of the Retreat. That's my dude right there. I gave him a few copies of that "Corporate America" CD and chopped it with him for a few. We ended up going to the radio station on Sunday night with radio personality Juggie. Akon announced on radio that he trying to sign me and make me a part of the Konvict family and that I was one of his priorities for 2008," says Roccett in his latest blog.

About Roccett
Born Jerome Rockett in 1983, and raised in the rugged streets of Carson, Calif., the 24-year-old MC learned about hustling and working hard early on. The rough surroundings of crime and gang life in Carson molded Roccett into a strong individual, and gave him the necessary experience to share the struggles of what many people face. After his initial dream of a basketball career didn't materialize, he discovered he had a passion for hip-hop at the age of 16. With his eyes clearly set on his new goal, he began laying out the foundation for his success by performing shows throughout Los Angeles.
Coming from the west coast, a region that has produced stars like Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, N.W.A and many more, and famous for its unique lifestyle, Roccett embodies what many west coast rap fans love, while at the same time displaying a versatility that makes him appealing to hip-hop fans across the world.
His charisma and strong stage presence, combined with his ability to craft stories about a wide array of subjects earned the young rapper the respect of fans and caused the industry to take notice.
His talent and drive caught the attention of Green Up Entertainment in 2004, and his partnership with the company, which has worked with notables like Usher and Tupac, has produced a sizable buzz. Roccett has worked with established stars like Young Jeezy, Fabolous, Killer Mike, Knoc'turn'al and other rising rappers like Bishop Lamont and Spider Loc early on in his career. With the backing of major and minor artists alike, it is a sure bet that Roccett has the spark and energy the game has been missing.
